For the final project in my typography course at Seattle Central Creative Academy, we were tasked with creating a double album cover for an artist of our choice. I picked the hip-hop artist, MF DOOM, and worked with his food themed album to create a dark, quirky, comic book style to match his musical aesthetic. After drafting a general layout and feel for the composition, I illustrated all of the food and patterns in Adobe Illustrator, then took the assets into InDesign, where I worked on the typography. Once completed, I printed the piece out, folded, glued, and mocked up the final product which resulted in one of the more expansive projects I’ve worked on thus far in school.
Here is the mood board I created for this project as well as early iterations.
